Reports To: Logistic Specialist / Shift Supervisor
Location: SPOC – Shelbyville, TN
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM | Overtime and weekends as needed
Job Class: Factory Hourly
Position Summary
The Material Handler / Yard Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, and finished goods within the facility and throughout the yard. This role includes operating forklifts and yard trucks to support production and logistics operations, adhering to all safety and compliance standards. This position requires flexibility to work in various areas of the operation and a strong commitment to accuracy, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Yard Driver Duties:
- Load, unload, dock, and move trailers in the yard.
- Transport trailers to and from off-site facilities as needed.
- Adhere to DOT regulations, including passing annual physicals and random drug screenings.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and always operate safely.
Material Handling Duties:
- Safely operate powered industrial equipment (PIE) to move materials throughout the facility.
- Perform replenishment, full pallet picking, put-aways, trailer loading/unloading, and production line support.
- Accurately transact all material movements in SAP.
- Report material discrepancies or inventory issues to leads or cycle count teams.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness on the production floor and warehouse areas.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Participate in achieving or exceeding daily performance metrics.
General Responsibilities:
- Support all production and warehouse functions as needed.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts and order processing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively and work well with others in a fast-paced team setting.
- Report any safety or equipment incidents immediately.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Class A CDL license (must be maintained).
- Must qualify for and maintain forklift certification.
- 6+ months of related experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Able to walk, bend, kneel, reach, and stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous SAP or warehouse management system experience.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
