Shift:     2nd – Monday – Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am, overtime and weekends as needed

Reports to: Distribution Supervisor

The PIT Trainer is responsible for the hands-on portion of the equipment training we have throughout the DC and Sharpie Way facility. These rides include Center Steer, Dock Stocker, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, Scissor Lift, Floor Scrubber. They will be responsible for training the employees to feel confident and safe on the ride.

PIT Trainer Responsibilities:

  • Good communication with co-workers
  • PIT trainer is signed off on all pieces of equipment before training an associate on that piece of equipment
  • Will fall into Squad lead duties in required area if no training is available.
  • Responsible for the associates once they sign the paperwork that they are good to drive
  • Not required to sign the paperwork if they are below a confidence level of 6. Trainee will need more hands-on training or will need to be trained at a different time.  
  • Required to provide feedback on training of how the employees met standards or if they did not meet the standards
  • Minimum of 1 full day hands on training with the employees through the SEAL approved Safety course
  • Take ownership in area, squad leaders and members to ensure teams stay strong and productive.
  • Team player within the shift and between the shifts
  • Has good attendance and is accountable



Safety/Housekeeping:

  • Safety focus – Drive to improve safety performance, ensure safety rules/practices and good housekeeping is followed.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping and 6S audits are conducted daily. Target 6S rating to exceed 90%.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintain clean and orderly equipment and report any safety concerns on the rides.

 

EXPERIENCE/EXPERIENCE:

  • HS/GED required, and 2 or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities; previous leadership experience is an asset.
  • Experience in distribution/logistics/warehouse preferred.
  • Team oriented, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
  • Good communication both written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan work daily and be self-motivated
  • Requires flexibility to changing priorities based on shipping and production department needs
