Responsibilities Requirements
- Will be responsible for setting up and changing production schedules to maximize output and ensure product availability.
- Maintain a detailed schedule that is within capacity and meets or exceeds the needs of customers.
- Verify that BOM, schematic, and label information are complete in collaboration with Packaging Engineers
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain stock.
- Implement measures to reduce scrap at the end of production runs.
- Work with production department to complete production orders and reduce inventories.
- Communicate backorders or potential backorders and work with purchasing on raw material shortages / excess.
- Provide support in work area as needed, including assisting with all packaging duties when required.
- Contributing to projects that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance.
- Coordinate with the dock to ensure the correct materials are unloaded in a timely manner.
- Schedule production runs by lining up the appropriate tooling on equipment.
- Communicate with team members to maintain workflow and minimize downtime.
Experience/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of related packaging experience preferred.
- Ability to plan work daily and be self-motivated.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities; previous leadership experience is an asset.
- Team oriented, self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SAP R/3, and AFO preferred; must be able to become proficient in these systems.
- Experience with all MS Office products; intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel, Outlook and Access preferred.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Essential Functions
- Occasional lifting and moving material or objects that are average weight continuously and heavy weight material or objects frequently
- Move light weight objects or material overhead occasionally
- Bend, stretch, and reach low and high places frequently
- Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
- Ability to perform standing job for 12 consecutive hours
- Operate computer and other production equipment
- Ascend/descend ladder
