The Role
We are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our Operations team in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between Operations and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment from early product concept through validation, industrialization, and sustained production.
You will provide technical leadership across laboratory and industrial testing while supporting product development initiatives and managing ISO-compliant laboratory capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical point of contact between Operations and stakeholders including Marketing, R&D, Sourcing, Legal, Manufacturing, and suppliers.

Provide technical guidance for New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and sourcing projects, ensuring manufacturability and operational feasibility.

Plan, execute, and analyze laboratory-scale and industrial-scale testing to validate products and manufacturing processes.

Ensure structured testing, reliable data collection, and clear technical reporting to project teams, Operations, and QHSE.

Develop and maintain testing methodologies, protocols, and standards to ensure consistent and high-quality results.

Support the industrialization and stable production of new or modified products by addressing technical and process challenges.

Evaluate new materials, technologies, and processes to support innovation and future product development.

Coordinate laboratory capabilities including personnel, testing equipment, and assets.

Ensure laboratory safety, ISO compliance, calibration, documentation, and equipment integrity.

Contribute to knowledge sharing and technical training within the team.
What You Bring

Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline

Experience in product development, industrial testing, or manufacturing environments

Strong understanding of product validation, industrialization, and scale-up processes

Experience working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders

Familiarity with laboratory environments and ISO-based compliance systems is a plus

Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
