As a Retail Marketing Assistant Manager, you will support the execution and day-to-day management of owned-channel retail marketing for the Home Fragrance division, with primary responsibility for Yankee Candle and supporting involvement across our broader family of Home Fragrance brands. This role is responsible for keeping marketing plans, assets, and systems tightly aligned to promotional cadence across digital channels, stores, and print.
You will serve as a key executional partner, ensuring digital marketing assets (email, homepage, organic social, paid social, affiliate, influencer), in-store signage, and print materials including direct mail are accurately briefed, trafficked, updated, and delivered on time. In partnership with marketing leadership, you will help translate business objectives and campaign strategy into clear creative briefs and storytelling frameworks, ensuring assets ladder up to defined goals. The role is highly detail-oriented, cross-functional, and project-management heavy, requiring strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to manage fast-paced change as business priorities shift.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Planning & Calendar Management
- Maintain and manage the retail marketing calendar in close partnership with the promotional calendar, ensuring alignment across digital, in-store, and print channels.
- Monitor promotional changes and business updates, proactively identifying downstream impacts to digital assets, in-store signage, and print materials.
- Support working sessions and planning forums to align timelines, priorities, and execution across teams.
Marketing Execution
- Support development of creative briefs grounded in business objectives, campaign strategy, and customer insights.
- Ensure cohesive creative direction and messaging across all touchpoints, with thoughtful adaptation by channel.
- Own end-to-end asset workflows across digital, print, and in-store, including briefing, routing, version control, feedback consolidation, and final approvals.
- Serve as the day-to-day cross-functional liaison between Retail Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, Performance Marketing and Retail Operations.
- Coordinate planning, briefing, and execution of digital marketing assets (email, homepage, organic social, paid media), print marketing (direct mail, coupons), and in-store marketing (signage, seasonal activations).
- Manage asset delivery, updates, and approvals to ensure accurate, on-time launches across all channels.
- Maintain clean, accurate trackers, systems, and documentation to support efficient execution and clear cross-team communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in retail marketing, brand marketing, or marketing execution roles.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience supporting digital marketing execution and creative asset workflows.
- Experience supporting in-store signage, store displays, or POS materials.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong communication and follow-through.
