The PMO Sr. Manager will report to the Director of PMO and will work with the Home Fragrance leadership team to support the successful execution of critical initiatives. This role will be responsible for ensuring the development of project plans, supporting the attainment of key milestones, identifying necessary resources, and overcoming obstacles to ensure project/portfolio deliverables are realized successfully. In addition, this role will function as a Subject Matter Expert on world-class project, process, and portfolio management, responsible for adopting best practice tools, processes, and training with BU personnel. This is a working manager role, where roughly 50% of its capacity will be leading projects, while the remaining capacity will be focused on efficiencies and growth of the business.

- Challenges resource utilization and drives projects that have optimal Return on Investment (ROI) to meet the company growth objectives.
- Manages team budget to ensure buy-in from leadership and finance.
- Considers future tactical requirements/projects and ensures team is positioned and resourced to deliver business needs.
- Translates and communicates Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure team performance contribution is aligned with the overall business strategy.

- Collaborates with functional leaders to execute the relative mix of Derivative, Renovation, Expansion, and Transformational innovation.
- Implements portfolio management of NPD to drive awareness, inform decisions, and enable efficient execution of initiatives.
- Develops, and leads program managers to commercialize business/product solutions.

- Leads cross-functional teams to pursue creative solutions to business-critical challenges/roadblocks.
- Challenges PMO to think outside the box with creative solutions using a winning business mentality not just a successful project approach.
- Prioritizes resources to execute development efforts while communicating risks effectively.
- Evaluates and recommends best problem-solving methodologies to meet given objective.
- Communication
- Drives cross-functional teams to work seamlessly across boundaries of company, culture, and geography for successful project execution.
- Leads collaboration efforts across organization to leverage best practices, expertise, and shared resources.
- Nurtures relationships with peers in other businesses to ensure BU stays on par or ahead with respect to operational excellence within Newell Brands.
- Technical Mastery
- Evaluates procedures to ensure each project plan contains activities required in the NPD process.
- Leverages cross-functional knowledge of business operations to effectively manage risks, coordinate project activities, and make appropriate decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field required (Master’s degree preferred)
- 10 years of product development leadership and project management experience in a new product development environment with evidence of successful product launches (12 years preferred)
- 7 years management experience required
- Demonstrates experience in managing a large number of projects through a team of direct reports in a cross functional environment
- Demonstrates organizational skills, aggressive drive for performance, and extremely high levels of personal accountability required
