Job Summary

 

The Sr. Manager, Executive Rewards contributes to the design, delivery, governance, and administration of the company’s executive compensation programs. This role partners closely with senior leadership, Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Regulatory, and the VP of Total Rewards to ensure executive compensation programs support pay-for-performance, effective risk management, regulatory requirements, and executive talent objectives. This individual also leads individuals responsible for delivering complex, high-risk compensation programs and drives continuous improvement across executive rewards processes and controls.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Executive Compensation and Governance:

 

  • Assess, design, implement, and administer executive compensation and related programs in response to evolving business performance, talent needs, and regulatory or risk considerations.
  • Monitor internal and external compensation environments to anticipate trends and recommend program enhancements.
  • Manage, implement, and recommend improvements to compensation policies, standards, incentive designs, and processes.

 

Board and Committee Support:

 

  • Develop materials for meetings of the Compensation & Human Capital Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Prepare executive compensation-related sections of SEC filings, including CD&A, Proxy Tables, etc.

 

Plan Administration:

 

  • Administer executive compensation plans, including tracking performance metrics and ensuring timely payments.
  • Partner closely with compensation consultants and other external partners.
  • Administer the long-term incentive plan, including updating the system to reflect the issuance of new awards, vesting existing awards, approving dividend equivalents, and modeling of different scenarios within the system.
  • Non-qualified retirement plan design, education, and administration

Data Analysis and Reporting:

 

  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to analyze trends which will ensure executive compensation practices are competitive, aligned with industry standards, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Analyze compensation data and prepare reports on compensation trends, plan effectiveness, and budget impacts.
  • Conduct cost analyses and model compensation scenarios to support decision-making.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compensation programs and recommend adjustments as necessary.

Regulatory, Risk, and Controls Management:

 

  • Partner with Regulatory, Legal, and HR teams to respond to executive compensation-related regulatory inquiries.
  • Design and administer processes and controls aligned with the company’s risk framework.

 

Cross-Functional Partnership and Advisory:

 

  • Support executive offers, employment agreements, retention, and departure arrangements.
  • Provide guidance to executive management and senior HR leaders.
  • Work with the HR department, Finance department, Legal department, and external consultants to implement and administer compensation plans.
  • Oversee the ongoing communication of incentive programs to key stakeholders, including employees.
  • Educate executives and HR teams about compensation programs and their impact on performance and business outcomes.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives related to executive compensation and broader HR objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects to enhance compensation programs and processes.

Team Leadership and Talent Development:

 

  • Lead and develop individuals delivering complex executive compensation programs.
  • Manage people and financial resources within the Executive Compensation team.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 8+ years of compensation experience
  • Management experience
  • Extensive executive compensation and Board support experience
  • Strong regulatory, governance, and SEC filing experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, executive presence, and team development skills
