Job Overview: 

  • We are seeking an Associate PLM Engineer (R&D) to join our global Research and Development team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will support product lifecycle management activities, ensuring our products meet the highest quality and safety standards. You will collaborate across disciplines, manage Bills of Materials, oversee change management processes, and contribute to the development of consumer products using PLM systems

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials and product documentation in Windchill (PLM).
  • Assist R&D teams with Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
  • Upload and manage CAD objects using Creo and SolidWorks.
  • Audit product deliverables and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in PLM structures and collaborate with engineers to provide solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and influence decision-making.
  • Learn and integrate additional systems like SAP and FlexPLM to enhance accuracy of BOMs.
  • Recommend best practices for PLM processes and support resolution of routing, access, or system issues.

What You’ll Need

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Proficiency in Engineering Change Management, Bills of Materials, and Microsoft Excel.
  • CAD literacy (Creo preferred, SolidWorks acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Your advantage:

  • Prior experience with consumer product development.
  • Familiarity with SAP, FlexPLM, or other enterprise systems.
  • Ability to recommend PLM architecture and process improvements.
  • Additional related working experience beyond the minimum requirement.
