Job Summery:

  • Responsible for conducting comprehensive laboratory tests by reviewing work orders, specifications, and drawings to support the qualification of writing systems especially writing tips / points and the substantiation of claims.
  • Reports test outcomes or measurements by collecting consistent, reliable, repeatable data and analyzing and summarizing data appropriately and recording within test system data base
  • Assists in developing / develops test methods, documentation, fixtures and applies automation to testing new products wherever possible.
  • Responsible for periodic maintenance of equipment’s and fixture’s and for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Supports in equipment maintenance and calibration according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensures all testing activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Business Acumen – 20%

  • Provides testing support, works under moderate guidance to complete the testing required for writing system qualification especially tip or point qualification.
  • Works on prioritized projects in terms of testing based on their strategic importance or market demand.
  • Supports in implementing or proposes improvements to testing methodologies that can reduce costs, enhance accuracy, or speed up time-to-market.
  • Follows the quality standards to ensure the accuracy of the test reports.

 

 

 

Problem Solving & Analytical skills – 20%

  • Supports in adopting a disciplined approach and the appropriate methodology to analyze and determine the preferred solution to technical challenges.
  • Reports problems and supports in conducting root-cause analysis to implement solutions using an existing systematic approach.
  • Learns and applies analytics skills for interpreting complex data and support in driving strategic decisions;

 

 

 

 

Communication – 20%

  • Participates / presents in cross-functional and internal team discussions to work seamlessly across disciplines as needed to execute product qualification initiatives.
  • Clearly communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through detailed test reports and presentations.
  • Ensures compliance with internal procedures and quality standards; Maintains rigorous control over testing processes and documentation.

 

 

 

 

 

Technical Mastery, Market insights, Innovation & Research fundamentals – 40%

  • Possesses expert-level skills in metrology, specializing in dimensional measurement using optical measuring systems, with a particular focus on tip / point analysis.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of mechanical testing principles and methodologies, skilled in using a variety of testing equipment and basic knowledge on analytical tools.
  • Supports in carrying out Benchmark studies against competitors, and helps in analyzing test data to identify trends, anomalies, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Develops test methods based on consumer relevancy to validate the product performance.
  • Supports in applying advanced research techniques to optimize testing processes or understand/ enhance the product performance.
  • Possesses knowledge of ISO standards related to writing instruments and a strong understanding of tribology and friction testing

  • Bachelors or master’s in engineering

Preferred

  • B.E / B.Tech (Mechanical engg, Metallurgy, material science & engineering, Chemical engg, Polymer tech)
