Your Role in a Nutshell
As a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Engineer, you will get an opportunity to work with all the wonderful people who create, develop, and build our products, and help manage a team of other contributors to our success. You will help ensure that our products conform to the highest quality and safety standards, bridge together different disciplines and help us become truly one company. The PLM Sr. Engineer will be responsible for the critical duty of supporting the creating and maintenance of Bills of Materials and Change Management processes for a variety of our products in addition to uploading CAD objects. We welcome previous experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems and familiarity with developing consumer products. Our Product Lifecycle Management system is growing, and we welcome new team members to help us fill the gaps in our growing PLM team.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Business Acumen
- Adheres to organization’s business practices.
- Assists in budget creation and tracking, expense reporting, and other routine business processes.
- Explains the company’s business model and financial goals.
- Promptly alerts supervisor to financial problems that may arise.
- Assists in assessing risks, benefits, and consideration of alternatives.

Technical Leadership
- Demonstrates current knowledge of the PLM environment. Identify, recommend, and implement process enhancements based on industry standards and best practices.
- Initiate the windchill processes for a new Newell Business and establish the online processes for the same.
- Standardize the processes at PAN Newell level wherever applicable and ensure Business specific requirements are met.
- Walks through steps, decisions, measurements, dependencies, and hand-offs for a specific process.
- Creates process flow or workflow diagrams, checklists, instruction manuals for PLM team usage and XF teams as required.
- Identifies and monitors common process bottlenecks.
- Finds or creates ways to measure performance against goals.
- Strives for excellence in performance by surpassing established standards.
- Adjust to new or changing assignments, processes, people, and priorities as business need dictates.

- Identify the skill gap within the team and plan for training to upskill the team expertise
- Identify and documents specific pain points of XF teams and create proposals for resolution alternatives.
- Identify the areas of streamlining and bring in process changes as required.

- Leads application of basic principles to solve windchill routing issues, access issues or Bugs and would be able to take help of E-IT team to solve the same.
- Understands all phases, activities, and deliverables of product development.
- Understands the practices followed by different Businesses within Newell and would recommend the best practices to be implemented across maintaining product integrity.
- Strong understanding of core discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines relevant to business segment
- Applies breadth of knowledge to support product design/specifications, compliance, and engineering tools.
What You’ll Need:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required (Mechanical preferred)
- Demonstrates knowledge of problem-solving techniques and methodologies
- Demonstrates good understanding of Product development cycle.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills & ability to perform in a team environment.
- Good team handling, mentoring and team motivating skills.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skill
Your Advantage:
- 7-10 years in related field required
- Experience in leading a team of ~ 4-5 members preferred
- Must be Proficient in Windchill PLM & industry standards of PLM
- Must be proficient in ECN, handling Bill of materials & good at Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of Creo & solidworks.
