Job Overview 

The Outbound Lead is responsible for guiding the receiving, warehousing, shipping, and inventory control of products consistent with company quality, service, and cost objectives and to meet daily delivery and productivity goals. Responsible for coaching, motivating, and leading warehouse teams to attain and exceed established objectives, utilizing effective communication, training, and implementing process improvements.

 

Responsibilities: Including but not limited to

  • Lead day‑to‑day activities for assigned outbound warehouse teams to ensure productivity and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the orderly stacking, staging, and loading of outbound shipments.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments are accurate, properly documented, and free of damage.
  • Direct the flow of shipments and goods, ensuring timely distribution to meet delivery and storage objectives.
  • Maintain efficient and safe operation of all material‑handling equipment; provide updates and training as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing by implementing work schedules effectively and ensuring assigned tasks are completed properly.
  • Maintain records, files, reports, and shift documentation as required.

 

Quality, Training & Employee Support

  • Provide continuous instruction to shipping and receiving employees on proper techniques and procedures.
  • Conduct follow‑up checks during the shift to verify quality and provide performance feedback to management.
  • Train hourly associates and support improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide coaching, training, and discipline when required, maintaining strong employee relations and issue‑resolution practices.

 

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure operations follow all safety guidelines and Occupational Safety requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to company safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for safe and efficient operation.
  • Promote a clean‑as‑you‑go environment and support 5S efforts.

 

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain and update required logs, operational records, and reports.
  • Communicate staffing needs, operational issues, and process deviations to supervisors as required.
  • Provide feedback regarding employee performance and operational concerns.

 

 

General Operational Support

  • Support the shift by coordinating warehouse personnel and monitoring workflow.
  • Manage hourly workforce on outbound shifts to achieve productivity and quality targets.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.

 

Qualifications Required

  • 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a distribution, logistics, or warehouse environment.
  • Team‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PKMS and SAP related to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • Ability to manage and coach employees effectively.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Must qualify for and maintain a forklift license.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license and successful completion of an eye exam.
  • Flexibility to work 10‑hour or 12‑hour shifts.

 

Preferred

  • Experience in warehouse leadership within a high‑volume distribution environment.
  • Experience driving process improvements or supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and walking within a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced industrial setting with varying temperatures and noise levels.
