This position is responsible for performing inbound inspections of raw materials, finished products and co-manufactured products across the YCC campus. Additional duties include performing Olfactive reviews of finished fragranced products and inbound raw materials such as fragrance oils.  The successful candidate will execute various AQL quality inspections in support of new products, new programs and inbound raw materials. The quality assistant will assist management in quality investigations, issue resolution, collecting, recording, tracking and monitoring data.

Responsibilities:

• Olfactive review of finished fragranced products against control standards prior to final release as first quality.
• Input product data information into reporting tracking system and generate required reports.
• Create Olfactive control standards by preparing fragranced wax samples. Perform Olfactive review of finished products.                                                                                                                                                                                                 
• Perform random inspections to AQL standards of co-packed, purchased products and inbound raw materials.
• Perform performance testing of outsourced products and raw materials for new products.
• Create data collection plans, collect and track data through use of spreadsheets and other means. 
• Prepare reports for internal/external distribution. Lead issue resolution investigations and line testing as necessary.
• Track reports and identify suppliers with outstanding noncompliant issues or CO-MFG product compliance.
• Coordinate and oversee quality rework in distribution center related to labeling packaging/repackaging issues. Provide input for vendor charge backs.
• Request & procure samples requested by various YCC departments including Quality for issue resolution.
• Directly interact with suppliers at various levels regarding RMS/COA documentation

Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Problem solving and organizational skills including strong attention to detail. 
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize one’s own work in a fast-paced, date-driven environment.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• The ability to lift weights up to 45 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Computer proficiency with MS Office applications, Oracle and PKMS a plus.
• Safety awareness and thorough knowledge of lifting procedures.

Previous quality or lab experience preferred
