Job Summary:
The Job Flow Specialist selects and release jobs for finished goods. Under minimal supervision, the job flow specialist works closely with the planning team to ensure the short-term production schedule meets customer demand and schedules finished goods production runs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews master production schedule for an 8-hour time and re-sequences production orders for the short-term schedule based on component availability, production efficiency, and customer service requirements.
- Moves work orders to alternate resources as needed to improve customer service and work center efficiency. Updates work order bills of materials and the computerized planning system to reflect the revised short-term production schedule.
- Works closely with planners to identify scheduling concerns and ensure priorities are known. Provides updates as needed.
- Performs shortage checking for work orders prior to release. Assesses and researches component data through tools such as dispatch lists and work order bill of materials.
- Creates, releases, and closes work orders for the production facility. Research and corrects work orders with cost variances.
- Maintains the scheduling board via the computer. Logs calls regarding production status.
- Runs and publishes various reports. Creates and maintains spreadsheets and performs data entry. Maintains the standard operating procedures for the position. Performs other similar duties in support of production planning.
- Communicate daily with manufacturing teams to confirm work order progress and which production lines are running. Receives updates pertaining to issues which may impact the production schedule. Provides updates to team to ensure clean transition from one shift to another.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience as a job flow specialist, or equivalent
- Experience with computers and Microsoft computer applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to write reports and perform simple analysis
- Basic math skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with manufacturing/logistics job release systems
- Solid computer skills and be able to use Microsoft Windows, Excel, & Word.
