Job Title:  Inventory Auditor

Department:  1661610519 – Wichita Materials

Reports To:  Inventory Control Supervisor

FLSA Status:  Hourly Non-Exempt

(Replacement for Cycle Counter and Inventory Controller)

Summary:  Administer and assist with movement and verification of product within the Wichita warehouse distribution area.  Tightly controls inventory, researches, and resolves inventory discrepancies.  Performs final verification of materials and products received, produced, or shipped. Supports Distribution with inbound and outbound shipments, including loading, unloading, and transporting materials to designated locations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands’ Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.
  • Drive success through the Company’s Planning, Engagement, Awareness and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.
  • Personally responsible for upholding the Newell Brands Values and the Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation for compliance with Newell Brands’ Housekeeping standards.
  • Assists Warehouse Associates in locating, obtaining, stacking, and moving materials and products
  • Operates forklift to transport materials to designated areas and workstations
  • Verifies cube and weight information for Wichita facility
  • Maintain scanner equipment used in the Distribution department
  • Verifies counts, material numbers, serial numbers for received, produced, or shipped materials
  • Research and clean up virtual bines.
  • Submit Precision requests to adjust product weight/dimensions when needed.
  • Verify location, item, quantify and unit of measure matches report; remove and transport damaged product from active Pick or Storage locations to damages area.
  • Using available reports, research locations and items in question; validate and count all questionable locations and items to move product to correct locations as needed; make system adjustments as necessary; research causes of inventory discrepancies and performs recount of items if needed
  • Ensures integrity of the physical count of the warehouse inventory.
  • Verifies put-away and transfer process performed by the day and night personnel.

 

 

 

  • Assists all warehouse departments with any questions or problems they may have related to inventory, like no product list.
  • Confirms delivery shortages as needed
  • Maintains warehouse bin address system
  • Transacts daily scrap reported by production or warehouse damage in SAP and PKMS.
  • Proactively notifies purchasing and production management of all potential vendor supply issues.
  • Posts Good Receipts, Good Issues, and Inventory Adjustments into SAP and PkMS.
  • Supports PEAK and SEAL activity, including Labor Management
  • Maintains time in Manhattan labor management software.
  • Work with purchasing and accounts payables to resolve receiving/invoice discrepancies.
  • Identifies improper SOP and instructs warehouse and manufacturing employees on the proper SOP
  • Coordinates inter-plant transfers when necessary.
  • Unloading urethane tankers
  • Unloading rail cars
  • Performs and monitors on a consistent basis waste/hazardous waste management activities including the movement, storage, and shipment of waste from the facility
  • All other projects as assigned by management

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, PkMS
  • Data entry skills required; SAP experience preferred
  • Forklift experience and license required or ability to get one.  Must complete internal training to obtain forklift license and standup license
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Must maintain an organized workspace
  • Must possess the ability to gather information from various sources, organize it effectively and ensure its accuracy and complete
  • Demonstrated People Skills (soft skills)

Education and/or Experience:  Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
