PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:  The primary responsibility of the position is to monitor the daily operation of the Security Department. This involves the monitoring and auditing of assigned security programs and safeguarding all company property, including the buildings, materials and surrounding company property, employees and employee property. Ensure all Officers comply with all Company policies and procedures, all Security requirements and all Security instruction.

 

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Protect company property employees and their personal property.
  • Monitor Security alarm systems, provide surveillance of company property either visually, on foot, or through CCTV
  • Audit and maintain security logs, key logs, incident reports, watchman reports, mapping and all activities occurring during each shift. 
  • Monitor paperwork and procedures keeping all documents and manuals up to date.
  • Maintain control of incoming and outgoing shipping traffic.
  • Responsible for assisting in the maintaining, testing and reviewing of the fire and safety equipment.
  • Participate in injury prevention, promoting safety and maintaining a neat and orderly workplace and follow Newell Brands’ Code of Safe Practices.
  • Review utilization and maintenance of security equipment and vehicles.
  • Prepare forms and complete reports as required.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility and grounds.
  • Prepare and arrange Security officers scheduling for approval by manager.
  • Responsible for training new Security Officers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent ( GED. )
  • Prefer industrial security or military security experience.
  • Ability to be on call and work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and available for overtime.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
  • Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency regarding assigned duties and have excellent follow up abilities.
  • Ability to communicate with others in a calm and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.
  • Attention to detail, ability to write reports and maintain necessary daily logs.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel is a plus.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a Company vehicle.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

·         Must be capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods of time.

·         Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes.

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • May be required to regularly lift 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Required to work in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.
