PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsible for finished goods auditing, container inspections and documentation.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands’ Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.
- Drive success through the Company’s Planning, Engagement, Awareness and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.
- Personally responsible for upholding the Newell Brands Values and the Code of Conduct.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation for compliance with Newell Brands’ Housekeeping standards.
- Conduct incoming receiving inspections on vendor supplied goods.
- Conduct functional tests and makes inspection of finished products, as required.
- Responsible for special quality tests and inspection on new products, as required.
- Provide back-up for Quality Manager
- Enter quality data into SAP for report and statistical analysis generation.
- Work with inspectors to develop best practices when performing receiving inspections, line audits and finished goods inspections.
- Provide timely feedback to management regarding quality of parts and processes.
- Assist inspectors and technicians in troubleshooting defects, root cause analysis and decision-making regarding quality of parts and products.
- Provide data and reports for special projects as requested
- Continuously identify improvement opportunities
- All other projects as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a full-time quality role or equivalent demonstrated experience/ability in area to be assigned.
- Good quantitative, analytical and personal computer abilities.
- Knowledge and ability to use SAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Proficient knowledge and use of test equipment, gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, scales, anemometer, amp/volt meter, blueprints, BOMs, manufacturing records and work instructions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
- Must be detail oriented
- Possess a strong sense of urgency regarding assigned duties and have excellent follow up abilities
- SAP experience helpful.
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent organization preferred.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of moving mechanical equipment, fumes and airborne particles. The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. Employees may be exposed to temperature variations in the plant of 35 - 120 degrees depending on the season. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
