Responsibilities:

  • Support new product development and legacy improvement/ productivity projects resulting in PPAP production/ submission from the design stage through the full approval stage, including data collection and analysis
  • Complete risk analysis using PFMEA to analyze and drive risk reduction during product development
  • Coordinate the timely review of customer concerns, a thorough analysis of root cause and effective implementation of corrective actions utilizing corporate DMAIC tools. 
  • Provide expertise in statistical analysis techniques, including but not limited to MiniTab. 
  • Ability to identify and drive Cost of Failure improvements and/or reductions by performing root cause failure analysis and implementing or facilitating solutions with engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing teams.
  • Lead large group of associates to support corporate Lean Sigma Optimization intiative.
  • Drive quality excellence within the manufacturing process with the creation, management, presentation, and action for key metrics and quality data across area of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the cross-functional team members to improve product margins and drive cost reductions while using Lean, Six Sigma, and advanced problem-solving tools.
  • Ability to lead and coach a small team of hourly employees, with potential of the team becoming direct reports
  • Oversee gauge lab and measurement systems, to include but not limited to MSAs, product dimensional layouts and gauge calibrations
  • Act as backup to the Quality Manager, filling in for critical moments when the QM is unavailable.
  • Perform any and all other activities necessary to support successful plant/company operations

Job Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of engineering (Quality Engineering preferred)
  • BS degree (preferably in a technical/engineering field) 
  • Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) 
  • Results-driven 
  • Excels in a team environment with strong facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to comfortably interface at all levels of the organization 
  • High level of initiative & follow-up 
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated multi-tasking capability
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills 
  • Hands-on problem-solving experience
     

Job Preferences

  • CQE preferred, with Manufacturing experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification, with Lean experience
