The Parts Room Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of parts and supplies necessary for maintenance and operations. This role ensures timely procurement, cost-effective purchasing, and accurate inventory control to support uninterrupted facility and equipment maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Purchasing
- Source and purchase parts, tools, and materials based on maintenance and operational needs which INCLUDE, Maintenance, , PM, ASRS, and related consumables.
- Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing with approved venders.
- Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival.
- Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory based on cycle count levels in the parts room.
- Maintain accurate price points within CMMS system.
- Vendor Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers with Manager guidance
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, incorrect orders, or defective parts.
- Data Entry & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and usage.
- Update inventory management systems and generate reports as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Support Maintenance Operations
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to anticipate parts needs.
- Respond promptly to urgent part requests to minimize downtime.
- Assist in identifying obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
