Logistics Clerk

Position Title: Logistics Clerk, M-TH, 6:30pm -4:30am
Location: Winchester, VA
Reports to: Distribution Supervisor
Job Summary
- Provide daily support to distribution to drive production performance in areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity and service objectives.
General Duties
- Process outbound loads through SAP. Cut lanes, cancel pick tickets, delete shipments.
- Verify in PKMS and EBOL that loads are complete and ready to ship.
- Work with warehouse lead to ensure Idock (process errors) and fixed in a timely manner.
- Process PGI loads for invoicing and works with inventory control to clean any post shipping errors.
- Manages the driver traffic through communication with them and dispatch.
- Find assigned loads. Might use google translate as an assistant.
- Ask customer drivers to sign loads out of EBOL and shipment is made
- Work with console to coordinate live load appointments and arrival as well as door placement
- Manages finished loads through filing systems
- Keeps track of Grainger, export, Uline through N drive
- Works with transportation manager to ensure all loads are picked up by date
- Contact carriers by email, fax or phone to ensure notification
- Requests add ons for exports less than cube containers
- Research load investigations, missing BOLS, lost freight, packing lists, work with load builders for trouble tray and swing loads
- Re-sends correct Essedant cross dock BOLS to each destination
- Assists visitors and deliveries as needed
- Route phone calls and aids security gate questions as needed
- Responsible for all night shift paperwork on weekends and Monday (day shift only)
- Cover opposite traffic clerk for vacation and cover CPU
- Must work overtime on the last day of the month, if last day of the month is a Sunday then overtime is required on Saturday and Sunday
- Update Mega waves to ensure all load come through
Working Conditions
Maintains a high level of enthusiasm, sense or responsibility, attention to detail and customer service for the continuous value improvement processes with all internal and external customers of the business.
- High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Previous traffic control or backup experience preferred
- Logistics, warehouse, or other distribution experience preferred
- Associate must be a team player that leads by example
- Associate must be open to new process improvements/changes while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must not be in any attendance steps while applying or while holding a Traffic Control position. Any attendance steps incurred while holding this position will be reviewed by management to determine if reassignment is necessary
- Must not be in any disciplinary steps while applying for this position. Any disciplinary steps beyond a documented coaching, while holding the position will be reviewed by management to determine if reassignment is necessary
Must have good customer service skills
