Pay: The Virginia base pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
The Logistics Material Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all production areas have the materials and components required to support scheduled manufacturing operations. This position coordinates inventory verification, material planning, component replenishment, and logistics support across multiple production departments. The Logistics Material Coordinator works closely with schedulers, warehouse personnel, production associates, and leadership to maintain inventory accuracy, minimize production downtime, and support safe, efficient material flow throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
• Print and review the production schedule at the beginning of each shift.
• Conduct daily inventory assessments in all assigned production areas, including Brute, EP, Misc 1, Misc 2, SF1, SF2, SF3, and SF4.
• Verify and document all components available at each machine and production cell.
• Utilize Document Manager and Bills of Material (BOMs) to determine component requirements for scheduled production.
• Calculate material requirements needed to support a minimum of 30 hours of production based on production rates and component usage.
• Compare on-floor inventory to production requirements and determine replenishment needs.
• Coordinate and submit material orders from Apple Valley, Highbay, and other approved inventory locations.
• Place Apple Valley replenishment requests according to established logistics schedules to ensure material availability for all shifts.
• Review PKMS tasking, pending transfers, and inventory movements before placing replenishment requests.
• Adjust ordering quantities to account for materials currently in transit.
• Utilize PKMS, SAP, and Document Manager to support inventory planning, replenishment activities, and inventory accuracy.
• Monitor component availability and proactively identify material shortages that could impact production schedules.
• Communicate material shortages, delivery concerns, and inventory issues to supervisors and schedulers.
• Coordinate with schedulers regarding component availability, delivery timelines, and production schedule impacts.
• Maintain accurate inventory and replenishment records in applicable systems.
• Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives as required.
• Assist production departments with moving, organizing, staging, and storing materials as needed.
• Ensure materials are properly stored in designated rack and staging locations.
• Maintain clear aisles, staging areas, and traffic lanes to support a safe work environment.
• Perform daily 5S and housekeeping responsibilities.
• Communicate and work cooperatively with production associates, warehouse personnel, supervisors, schedulers, and plant leadership.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Skill Set:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, materials management, or production support preferred.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and material replenishment processes.
• Experience using computers in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to accurately perform inventory calculations and data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently on projects and routine tasks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in manufacturing logistics, inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or production support.
• Experience utilizing PKMS, SAP, Document Manager, or similar ERP/Warehouse Management Systems.
• Experience working with Bills of Material (BOMs), production schedules, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and inventory forecasting.
• Experience performing inventory analysis and material planning to support production schedules.
• Experience supporting multiple production departments in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and inventory reporting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and workplace organization.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to bend, squat, twist, push, pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment.
• Ability to wear and use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and approved safety footwear.
• Ability to meet the pace and physical demands of the position.
