Position Title:        Mold Change Team Member B Shift

Location:                Winchester, VA
Reports to:            Technical Supervisor

As a Mold Change team Member in the Commercial Division, located in Winchester, VA you will report to a Technical or Maintenance Supervisor. This position will be responsible for performing all of the Mold Change activities on the daylight shifts. This would possibly include attending the daily SHO and communicating with the other shift leads or supervisors on the daily mold change priorities, other tasks and ongoing projects. It would also include but not be limited to the following list of Duties and Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities: 80% Mold change / 20 % Other

·Arrive at your work area prepared to work safely, focused on your job, and with all required PPE.

·Use computer to determine Mold change Schedule working through Mattec , Document manager and related programs

·Stage all components needed for Mold change including but not limited to, Molds, Auxiliary Equipment, Nozzles, Ejector / Core Electrical and Hydraulic lines, all water and air lines, All tools including crane and all Mold cleaning materials

·Clean and maintain molds along with general mold repair when prepping molds for removal during mold change.

·Change Molds / Do Mold change sheet accordingly.

o    Remove plastic where applicable and clean nozzle area to a state that the nozzles can be pulled safely.

o    Remove Knockouts

o    Clean all molds and molding surfaces, spray with antirust.

o    Remove Nozzles and Molds wearing proper PPE and working safely.

o    Clean Platen

o    Install Molds and Nozzles working safely.

o    Install All water, air, electrical and hydraulic lines, and knockout pins.

o    Test and ensure all work correctly.

o    Clean and grease all applicable areas on the new molds.

o    Do Material / Color Change as Necessary

o    Clean the entire area in and around the machine being mold changed.

o    Start up mold installed and run a quality part

·Work closely with production, on production molds when issues arise.

·Maintain, organize, and stage molds, auxiliary, nozzles, and all other components for upcoming changes

·Manage in Press mold PM’s and get molds ready to run per schedule.

·Repair molds as possible … Ie ,  broken water nipples, hydraulic fitting  etc.

·Maintain supplies / accessories through tool crib.

·Internal Record keeping ….Keep records/log of mold work done

·Communicate with Mold Shop, Mold Engineer, Process tech, Supervisor about mold issues.

·Working inside the Mold Shop area to support the Technical and Maintenance Supervisors needs, when not mold changing.

·Some OT will be requested as needed on off days. OT Manning schedule will be developed if needed.

·Go to other areas and change molds as available to do so

·Create Inventory checklists for each mold change

·Work in Nozzle area when time permits or priority requires it

·Support PEAK initiatives throughout the plant.

 
Qualifications -

Minimum Qualifications:

·Must be a current Manufactruring Tech

·Injection Manufacturing Techs (Brute, EP, Misc 1 & 2, ) can bid on Mold change team spots but their spot must be back filled prior to release if selected

·Must be able to work with others. All members will be required to work well and safely with all of the other members. There will be no two-man teams that only work that specific way. Job rotation will take place if necessary. Must be able to do all Duties and responsibilities.

·High School diploma or GED preferred, experience will be considered.

·Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

·Must be physically able to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and lift to 80 pounds.

·Basic computer skills

·Must be able to Work in an environment with extreme temperatures and loud noises

·Must wear/use all required PPE, to include but not limited to, safety shield, hearing protection, proper gloves, apron, and steel toe shoes when and where each is required.

·Must be self-motivated and be able to work unsupervised.

·Must have ability to communicate effectively with others

·Must be able to work overtime as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively with co-workers and leadership.

·Forklift, Crane, and other industrial vehicle experience
