Primary Purpose of Position:
The Senior Manager, Operations is responsible for achieving business objectives related to safety, quality, customer satisfaction, inventory management, and cost control. This role leads to operational excellence initiatives and drives continuous improvement across the Winchester manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and forecast key performance metrics daily; communicate trends and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
- Champion Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and provide visible leadership in promoting a safe workplace.
- Support quality initiatives, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
- Lead efforts to meet customer expectations for product delivery, quality, and service.
- Establish and achieve inventory targets aligned with business goals.
- Track and respond to key cost indicators, deploying strategies to manage volume and performance fluctuations.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in collaboration with Finance.
- Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Promote a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, engagement, and professional growth.
- Develop and maintain succession plans for critical roles within the operation.
- Act as a change agent, driving innovation and continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Conduct financial analyses to support strategic capital investments and operational decisions.
- Partner with Human Resources to manage staffing levels, performance reviews, employee engagement, and workforce planning.
- Lead the development and execution of the annual budget, including workload planning, headcount, strategic initiatives, capital investments, and cost-saving targets.
- Align divisional operations with Newell Brands’ corporate strategy and contribute to long-term business planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or plant operations environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Primarily a sedentary role with regular use of a computer and other office equipment.
- Occasional walking within the manufacturing facility to observe operations or attend meetings.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move between office and plant environments throughout the workday.
- May require occasional lifting of office supplies or documents up to 25 lbs.
- Standard office environment with climate control; occasional exposure to manufacturing areas with noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends during peak periods or critical project timelines.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering production areas.
