General Responsibility:

The shipping clerk will process and coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries at the distribution center as well as assist in the efficiency of overall line fill matrix. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily contact with LTL carriers via phone or email and coordinating the appropriate shipping paperwork with over-the-road drivers.
• Responsible for wave planning, inbound verification, and outbound load assignments as required.
• Processing and shipping of truck-load, LTL, and parcel shipments
• Perform support functions and retrieve product as needed.
• Understand and track shipping requirements and deadlines for various carriers
• Provide communication to Supervisors and Load Planners regarding shipments

• Perform other duties as required, including the operation of PIT vehicles

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must have minimum of (12) months of related work experience. High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Must have a Current/Valid Driver’s license.
• Must be customer focused, able to multi-task.
• Must be a self-starter, motivated for change and improvement.
• Must successfully complete PIT training and maintain a current PIT license.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work overtime as well as some irregular hours. This position will work in a reasonably clean warehouse environment.  Exposure to fork truck noise is constant. Seasonal weather variations may result in frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions, particularly on the receiving floor where open doors allow exposure to prevailing weather conditions. Physical exertion such as pushing, pulling, kneeling or heavy lifting up to 45 pounds is frequent.
